Speaking of that, Domain 3 can go to hell with its length. They still use the pre-2015 domains, but all the material there is still testable and great to know, but now condensed into only 8 domains. Example: the classroom guy said there is 'no such thing' as proactive detection, but that is literally the whole concept behind threat hunting. 6/10 because the information is often TOO shallow or straight misleading. The visuals add nothing of value, and the videos with the classroom lecturer are pretty lacking all around. The FedVTE 2018 CISSP lecture videos - These lectures definitely do not go into enough depth to fully prepare you for the exam, and often miss key points in the domains (such as a complete lack of a database portion in Domain 8) but the videos are a decent supplement if you have a long commute or some down time to listen in. Both are 10/10 for their intended purposes.

I read the big Study Guide book cover to cover then used the 11th Hour as a quickie reference to go over any obvious weaknesses. The Sybex CISSP Study Guide and 11th Hour by Eric Conrad et al. I also have the GIAC GSEC and GMON certifications, so a lot of the material for CISSP was review. I planned on waiting another year to attempt the certification, but my work had unused vouchers for the exam that expire at the end of the month and handed them out to anyone interested. I still have a year to go as an Associate of ISC2 before I can join the leagues of the big kid CISSPers though. I worked my first two years as a 'full stack' data center engineer (hardware/software/storage), and last year began transitioning more to the technical InfoSec side (SIEM/Firewall/IDS).

I landed a job straight out of college and had the 'luxury' of working in an IT environment where you are expected to have a large role in basically every ISC2 domain except network operations and software development (separation of duties lol). Some background on me: I have three years in IT/InfoSec. I took the exam thing this morning and knocked it out first try after two weeks studying during lunch at work and in the evenings after work.
